It sounds like the author's solution is to take the web metaphor and create a personal microcosm of that. I don't think this is the solution. I'm a bit disappointed that the essay doesn't take the approach of identifying the problem more fully, before proposing a solution. The base effect of reading the article, feels to similar to someone telling you about a thought they had in the shower.
