Humans Who Are Not Concentrating Are Not General Intelligences
- PaulHoule 5y agoGreat Article! The old AI was focused around this problem https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boolean_satisfiability_problem https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boolean_satisfiability_problem which is a model for your ability to tell if a semantic interpretation makes "sense", such as the "four-horned unicorn". A lawyer, for instance, thinks that way to interpret a contract, a situation, and possible situations. Unlike SAT people have the ability to accept something like a "four-horned unicorn" as a special-case entity like Chomsky's "green idea" and those things can live a life of their own. Basic computer science gives some clarity here: if you look at the way information flows in a system or what storage capacity it has or that it demonstrates experimentally, it is very clear what "deep networks can't do" and Turing would have told you to as well.
