This is a very weird list. I'll just comment on the places I've lived and worked in:
- Why is Hong Kong even on the list?
- Sydney and Melbourne: expensive; Internet is both low bandwidth and high latency; lack of travel destinations due to distance; poor air quality due to excessive use of fossil fuels and bushfires (yes I checked, nowadays average air quality across Melbourne is worse than HK); toxic politics. Not to mention lots of unpaid overtime. Why are they so high on the list?
- Mandatum 5y agoMelbourne and Sydney internet: only true if you're not on FTTP. You can even sign up with providers like Launtel which let you subscribe to FTTP by the day.. The air quality comment is VERY surprising, just checked it myself.. Dead of winter during a lockdown in Melbourne and there's STILL more air pollution than Hong Kong. EDIT: Having just double checked this, this is incorrect - Hong Kong has triple the average of Melbourne. Was checking point in time vs Melbourne, however Hong Kong gets significantly worse as the day goes on. See historical comparisons.
