I follow football (soccer) and at least in England, when you join a professional team there is a very heavy emphasis on mandatory media training for the players. Which is why you often see so many dull player interviews, you can literally see them recalling their training and giving stock standard answers to the sort of questions they've been trained to respond to based on the outcome of the game or their performance. Maybe other sports should take a similar stance.
