Only mentioned a few times here, but I think Amazon's "moat" is actually their customer service. It's the only reason I'm still strongly with them. I'd pay higher prices elsewhere for "local" or "indie" or whatever ... but have been stung so many times that I return to Amazon. I'm p!ssed off about that, as I recognise Amazon as the monopoly, but don't take kindly either to get ripped off elsewhere. Personally, yes, a monopoly is in the house. But the rest of retail has to up their game. If Amazon get broken up, which causes their prices to rise, which helps competition. That competition will still need to "customer serve" as well as Amazon for me to consider them.
