The scale of this is incredible. For me it's worrying because of how impressionable and plain stupid the average social media user is. On reddit the bar for comments is extremely low, blantaly false information gains traction if it's framed correctly. About 10% of my Instagram stories (~20-30 age range) are people posting screenshots of viral Twitter posts, many of these posts could easy be catagorized as propoganda and often contain misleading or outright false facts.
