That does not appear to be so, heck all countries have border checks that vary and you can always find instances of social drama to paint a picture that distorts the average experience.
When I went to the USA I had eye scan upon entry - bit more personal than fingerprints and happily understood that.
In the UK we was warned that due to EU regulation that travelling to the EU after UK left the EU would entail fingerprint checks etc, https://www.express.co.uk/news/uk/775886/Brexit-immigration-EU-borders-travel-British-citizens-visa-photograph-fingerprints-US https://www.express.co.uk/news/uk/775886/Brexit-immigration-...
Heck even EU countries must comply with various checks and regulations regarding border control and let's not forget EURODAC and the many other fingerprinting/security check systems they operate and are they evil - nope, case of a product of our times and how border checks always operated. Just a bit more automated/technological these days.
Back onto border checks - this is something all countries do and things like this you can watch upon many of the TV shows that literally documentary film such things. TV shows like Customs UK, https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0439351/ https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0439351/ etc etc, fair few TV shows that work around such aspects of life.
- atatatat 5y ago> happily understood that. Uh..any chance you could explain it for the rest of us? The hell?
- Zenst 5y agoWas aware that was the process before flew, and was really quick and went thru the line and customs quicker than I did returning into my home country in the UK. That said, I'm sure if I'd been singled out for a rubber glove inspection - my perspective of the whole experience would of been much different. Though I'm mindful that the whole security/customs process can put people off flying more than the whole worry of being in the air as was the mainstream worry for most decades ago.
