I find it somewhat terrifying that a politician with half a brain couldn’t work these pretty obvious consequences out for themselves. Even at the most basic level of knowing covid kills 1-2% of people who get it means 1-2% of your population dies - even if you magically don’t overwhelm the health service and massively increase that percentage.
