Hire some movers to load up and take a U-Haul to good will or a donation center, have the donation center pick up large furniture, rent a dumpster for the rest. This can be done over the course of a few days or a week if you want more time for any of the steps. It’s better if they start doing it now, and clarify what is essential and “the important stuff they’d grab in a house fire” in step one.
