Scrawl-canvas snippets are small Javascript modules imported into a HTML5 <script> tag, then applied to elements in the document. Snippets add a responsive canvas behind the element, which can then be animated in a wide variety of ways. While I am responsible for coding this up, I do not think it is the greatest advancement in the history of front-end web development. However, the CSS Houdini Paint API[1][2][3] is going to happen whether I like it or not. So I decided to contribute to the mess before Houdini makes my canvas library irrelevant.
