Appreciation of the stabilized BSD operating systems increased. NetApp and other big brand products are FreeBSD based for good reasons. The drama of everything changing 'Microsoft style' is infectious to Linux ecosystems. Pulling the plug on CentOS and Freenode within just one year can be seen as an effort to destabilized some Open communities. But we will become stronger in few years time once everybody sees the centralized snap packages, git repositories and communication channels has been used against the essential freedoms Open software gave us all.
