What a Wuhan lab leak would mean
- dovin 5y agoSlightly off-topic, but I wonder why this website is recommending two different authors' names under the heading "More by this author".

I think it's a good summary of how the lab-leak hypothesis has been mishandled by the media: https://www.nytimes.com/2021/05/27/briefing/lab-leak-theory-covid-origins.html https://www.nytimes.com/2021/05/27/briefing/lab-leak-theory-...
- hcrisp 5y agoThe author mentions something I noticed when I first read the WSJ article that precipitated the current rethinking on the pandemic's origin. And that is, that the hospitalization of the three Wuhan lab researchers in November 2019 was old news, i.e. already reported. It's funny, and hopefully not a false equivalence, to realize that three major news stories with geopolitical importance in the last two decades have in common the inability of the news media to penetrate the fog and challenge the establishment view early on. The three I mean are the Iraq intelligence debacle, the Trump-Russia collusion investigation, and now the Pandemic origin. Where are the truth-seeking journalists of yesteryear that made their profession proud?
- etempleton 5y agoI know nothing about infectious diseases, how they mutate, or how they spread from one species to another, but it would seem, on the surface, that the presence of a lab where research is being conducted on coronaviruses in the bat population that is within the epicenter of a global coronavirus pandemic that originated from bats is a bit too coincidental to not at least investigate.
