I am very much wondering why it is that if i go on a public instance of invidious all videos shown are from my personal preferences... shouldn't this be random?

I am very much wondering why it is that if i go on a public instance of invidious all videos shown are from my personal preferences... shouldn't this be random? Seems like YT is reading cookies or mapping the IP anyways...
