> In no case does copyright protection for an original work of authorship extend to any idea, procedure, process, system, method of operation, concept, principle, or discovery, regardless of the form in which it is described, explained, illustrated, or embodied in such work
- nextaccountic 5y agoThe ideas themselves aren't but it appears the paper was a blatant copy, image by image, and this IS a copyright violation.
- lodovic 5y ago"regardless of the form in which it is described, explained, illustrated, or embodied in such work" - didn't know this either, but apparently even image-by-image copies are allowed.
- Retric 5y agoScientific ideas are one thing, however if scientific papers don’t have copyright protection then Sci-Hub should be legally fine. So, that doesn’t seem to be the case.
