ShouldI respond to an email by anonymous accusing an academic of misconduct

I have recently received an email from an anonymous source abou the misconduct of an academic.The email provides some evidence of that misconduct(plagiarism of his Phd thesis) but the academic is completely unrelated to me and my university. How should I respond?

Why wouldn’t you direct them to the author of the material in question?

  Why would I want to do that? I doubt that he will admit his guilt if he is guilty
