Linked receipts seem to be exactly that - receipts. I don't see what the confusion is.

Because if any other of the users delete their accounts, the tweets will disappear too. It is a) better than not providing proof like the accusers failed to provide and b) those same accusers can post their own proof if it's contradictory.
