My recollection is that you are probably immune to the flu you had 3 years ago. You are not immune to the flu as it has mutated this year. Covid may or may not be similar. That's why scientists study it and report on aspects like this.
- nikolay 5y agoThat's based on very shaky assumptions. Although coronaviruses are not as rapidly mutating into new strains as the influenza viruses, RNA viruses compared to DNA viruses mutate quite a lot. To deceive people that they have lifetime immunity is both unscientific and irresponsible - I already know people who ignore all kinds of protective measure because they've had it last winter and assume they are immune for life. We yet have to see that and go beyond pure hypothetical speculations like this one! The coronaviruses are responsible for 20-30% of the common cold, which sickens hundreds of millions of people each year.
