Very little. ~95% of my personal email and ~60% of my work email is discarded because I have no interest in the message. IM (Skype, Google Hangouts, Text) is my preferred means of communication. I don't like my real-time being monopolized by voice calls. I rarely answer the phone unless I know who is calling and why.
