On 27 Nov 1990, ARM was formed with Apple owning 43% alongside Acorn (the designer), and VLSI Technology (the manufacturer). Funny thing: I've found two articles that claim two different purchase prices for that 43%: one $3M [0] and the other $1.5B [1]. That's quite a difference!
