- alephnan 5y agoVery curious who is downvoting this comment, as I’ve frequently experienced with this sort of topic, rather than providing a substantive response
- logicslave 5y agoLarge scale truth suppression
- alephnan 5y agoThey’re proving your point as we speak.
- knowaveragejoe 5y agoWhy isn't the media talking about this thing I saw in the media?
- thereare5lights 5y agoDiscrimination and racism against Asian Americans is something that gets flagged a lot on HN in my experience. But then again, discrimination and racism posts in general are something that gets flagged a lot on HN so it's not surprising.
- b9a2cab5 5y agoBecause anything that challenges the narrative and posits that diversity and inclusion initiatives are actually harming minorities (Asians) is somehow racist. For example, if I were to make a comment saying affirmative action is racism, my comment would get insta-flagged.
- tomjakubowski 5y agono it wouldn't, people make that argument on here all the time
- imgabe 5y agoA lot of HN moderation is aimed at curtailing discussions that tend to be unproductive flamewars. I wouldn't take it as "truth-suppression" just that people tend to already have their opinions formed on some topics and prefer to just shout them at each other rather than have a discussion.
- mattigames 5y agoThat site hijacks the browser's history (clicking back button opens "Stories to check before you go") and it's filled with clickbait from taboola, maybe a website with less shady practices would get less flagged.
