- ggm 5y agoCurating issues in one gallery. Art like this, and found objects, early 20th century surrealist sculptures and montages, the ready-made, are a nightmare of differential ageing effects. Not unlike Da Vinci's experiments with paints, or Victorian use of bitumen brown, art doesn't always last as well as we want. I found the artists shit quite moving. We would literally kill for verified DNA from Leonardo or Michaelangelo, think of the impact on provenance checks. Personally I prefer the fur teacup set, or the lobster telephone.
