The problem with numbers like these is they don't tell much of the story.
"But since launching an Android version this month, Clubhouse has seen one million Android users join."
We don't know if these 1 million Android users downloaded the app just to check out what all the hype was about, how many times they've returned, and their participation rate.
App downloads ≠ usage
- waihtis 5y agoYeah. I registered, logged in a couple times to see who followed me and abandoned it. Main problem is I dont even know what Clubhouse really is. Is it supposed to be some kind of talk radio or what?
- lupire 5y agoIt's an app for group audio chats. Each chat can be one speaker, a panel, or a group conversation. Special features are large groups (up to 5000) and the "curation" that isn't really a feature but affects popularity and engagement.
- skinnymuch 5y agoIs it a social network? You can’t message any one or anything. The only voluntary info you have on other people is the bio. There’s no way to search or filter for current rooms. Filtering as in filter by category. At least that would be something. The “curation” makes it hard to make an analogy with radio. Satellite radio has tons of channels. It gets tiring seeing rooms useless for me via the “curation”
