Ask HN: What is the weirdest Hardware you have used as a workstation
- Spooky23 5y agoAn awful SCO Unix server that was pressed into service as a workstation to maintain a contract on life support.
- AnimalMuppet 5y agoThere was a development machine for an embedded system that had dual 8085 (!) processors. With those processors, you'd guess that it didn't do a GUI, and you'd be right. It didn't even multitask between processors in the conventional sense. But there was a key that would toggle which was the active processor, and it would take over the display and IO.
- arthem 5y agoInteresting! Anywhere that I could get some more information on that?
- AnimalMuppet 5y agoNot through me, sorry. This was about 1986, and it was an old system then. I don't remember the brand, still less the model name.
