Solar Power's Decade of Falling Costs Is Thrown into Reverse
- toomuchtodo 5y agoTLDR Polysilicon and semiconductor shortages.
- atonse 5y agoThank you. Glad to not have to look at the appallingly annoying popup.
- WheelsAtLarge 5y agoThis is good news. Rising prices will bring competition that will ultimately reduce prices and increase performance. Silicon is actually the least expensive part of a solar project. Installation plus the other parts are the real costs, easily over 50%. I hope more efficiency is brought to that part of solar power installations. Short term it's a problem. Long term I think it's a plus.
