My favourite unintuitive action comes from Windows 8 (before 8.1). Here I was, with an IT education, unable to figure out how to shut down the computer! It wasn't in the start menu like in every other Windows version before and after. No, to do that you needed to swipe from the right side of the screen for some sort of a system sidebar to appear (I believe it was called "charms"). I've used the cmd command I was familiar with for months (shutdown -s -t 0) before finally deciding to consult with a search engine, and oh boy, was I pissed when I found out where it was. Super glad I never have to touch Windows to do my work now.
