Interview with fired Apple employee Antonio García Martínez [video]
- spacedcowboy 5y agoI watched the video just so I’d recognize him if I saw him. My opinion remains unchanged after watching his attempted excuses fall, one by one, plunging down to impact his credibility. Words and actions matter. You can’t write explosive prose to sell an edgy book, and then brush it off as “that was 5 years ago”. How would it feel to be one of those “full of shit, traceable for a jerry can of diesel” women, if this piece of shit was your boss - responsible for your career advancement and day to day employment. Yeah.... Good riddance to bad rubbish.
- jfengel 5y agoI was really struck by Paul Graham's defense of him, which included an apologia that he sometimes spoke outrageously "for effect". There was an effect. That seems to have come as a surprise. I think he'd gotten used to the notion of internet trolling as being free of consequences. You get the power to touch others but without them being able to touch you. But a book puts your identity out there, and now they can do something about it.
