- lmm 5y agoMost ordinary users have no idea. But there's a cultural generation of developers who tried to use Jabber in their high school / college years, found out how much it sucked, and carried that experience consciously or unconsciously into their programming careers.
- emteycz 5y agoSure, but that isn't important in any way. Programmers have much less influence on business decisions that that, and practically none on the society at large. If it was so good we'd be using it now.
- astura 5y agoThere's no "cultural generation," nobody I knew in college ever attempted to use Jabber because we were all just fine with using AIM. Shrug Even if there was it would be a minority opinion among a company's developers, and developers have very little to no say in business decisions anyway.
