Bottery by Google
- jsnell 5y ago(2017) Original discussion: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=15592800 https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=15592800 But this could do with a title update more generally, the readme is quite explicit that it isn't "by Google". Maybe something like "Bottery, a conversational agent prototyping platform"?
- floatingatoll 5y ago> This is not an official Google product.
- AbraKdabra 5y agoUploaded to the official Google repository. Logic yo.
- bla3 5y agoMany projects in that repo are one-eng 20% projects.

- floatingatoll 5y agoThis statement is present in the linked repository under the GitHub organization 'google': > This is not an official Google product. 1. If it's an official repository, then it's an official statement, which means it's officially an unofficial project. 2. If it's not an official repository, then it's not officially an official project, which means it's an unofficial project. 3. If it's not an official statement, then the repository author isn't authorized to declare the project official, which means it's an unofficial project. Your statement is predicated on the belief that it's an official repository, which invokes clause #1. Since you believe it to be an official repository, therefore the author's statement is official, which means that the project is unofficial, disproving your reasoning. (Please don't be dismissive and snide in future comments; signing a post with "Logic yo" is unwelcome here, even if you think you're right, even if you think it's obvious why you're right.)
- CobrastanJorji 5y agoI haven't tried Bottery, but the related Tracery tool is wonderful if you happen to need generated text of a certain level of complexity. It's basically next tier Mad Libs. Throw enough options at it and it makes surprisingly convincing stuff. It does a great job of filling the niche where you need randomness that's a bit too complex for just coding it yourself and not complex enough to start looking into ML.
