  People and companies who grind all the time often make stupid mistakes which undo all the "dividend" from excessive work. They then end up spending more and more time firefighting these issues. The only successful companies I have worked with have had well rested teams. There's also the other factor of attrition. Companies who force their staff to work overtime ultimately can't keep their good staff.
