- ben_w 5y agoIt means the atoms from one side of a junction of two dissimilar materials end up embedded inside the other, where you probably don’t want them to be. I am not the right person to ask what the failure looks like (this may have been an analogy for my benefit rather than how it actually happens), but at some point it fails.
