Also, court cases are not just decided by the amount of money you pour in them. You need money to prepare correctly the case and work a good strategy, but in the end facts are considered, and if someone violates copyright, they're going to be found guilty, be them a small company or a FAANG.
- ghaff 5y agoIn both those cases, it's also just about risk/benefit. There's relatively little software that uses those licenses, which are (relatively) new as licenses go and AFAIK there is no legal precedent around them. So I daresay companies just figure there's not a lot of advantage to offering some AGPL service in particular and there is a risk of exposing their proprietary back-end to a lawsuit.
