    They have increadibly short lives for such intelligent creatures. We eat them and in many cultures the death is horrific by any standard: eviscerated, and beaten to soften the flesh in an organism with a widely distributed brain. The environment they live in is fragile, damaged and shrinking but is beautiful.

      OK, fair enough, but that's not really the movie per se. That's just the life of octopi in general, which I grant you is very sad.
