What economic value does Freenode has?
- lozenge 5y agoNone now that all of its team and channels will move to another network.
- cblconfederate 5y agoOne of the benefits of old decentralized protocols: The community is not locked in and can move as nomads, so it can't be sold. At best they get an archive of stale information.
- esjeon 5y agoNetwork + personal info, I guess...? But a catch here is that most people in the network are proficient in technology, which makes it difficult to abuse them like how Facebook does to its users.
