Nordic Biker War (1994-1997)
- Dah00n 5y agoReading this reminds me of discussions I have seen about "The Gang Problem" in Denmark. Often this includes lots of racism. Of course it isn't fun if you get caught in the crossfire but looking at the numbers of gang-members does show how tiny a problem it is compared to lots of other places and other kinds of crime. Wiki says "130 Bandidos and 290 Hells Angels" in the War but looking up the numbers show that in Denmark there's a total of 1257 people know to be gang affiliated (out of 5,8 million). Outside these flare-ups The Gang Problem is close to non-existent. Looking at Sweden though it is a completely different picture (and Wiki states that motorcycle gangs in Scandinavia started out in Sweden). I wonder why that is?

Grassroots beginnings. 2. Insufficient attention and powers by law enforcement. Not unlike US organized crime, which grew until RICO in the 1970s Note: Interesting what movies inspire one to learn, even in passing.
- Dah00n 5y agoThank you for the link :) Edit: 5693 gang members out of 10,3 million in Sweden versus 1257 out of 5,8 million in Denmark. Interesting.
- codezero 5y agoThe thing that surprised me so much about this one was that they managed to steal RPGs from military bases to attack their foes. That's absolutely insane.
- JoeyBananas 5y agoThe Hells Angels are weird, apparently they are technically a corporation. This dispute was ultimately settled by a lawyer.
