The seller is based in J&K state and customer have address of UP State. AFAIK, you can not buy a prepaid SIM card in J&K due to security reasons.
Getting a postpaid SIM card, is difficult because they need to verify your documents and physical address. So most probably the customer entered a wrong email address in the application.
Better to report this to local police station to avoid any future issues.
- susam 5y agoThanks for your comment. Isn't the email notification that says, "Recharge successful for Jio Number <number>" (see 3rd table in the post) evidence of a prepaid SIM card? Or am I missing something?
- ffpip 5y agoYou can recharge for postpaid numbers too. It goes into account balance and can be used for things like ringtones, or in case you switch back to a prepaid plan, or for paying for someone else's recharge. It takes the money from your account balance and you don't have to enter your payment details. It's usually called an account topup, where you just increase your balance so that you can use it later when you need. I do it a lot.
