We already know that missing or incompetently configured encryption exists, we see IoT stories about this all the time, and we already see news stories when the occasional internet creep gets caught peering into the encryption-unencumbered private lives of friends, classmates, colleagues, or strangers. This is already a problem which we can readily point to as reason not to exponentially increase the number of peepholes already on the internet. Sure, it might solve the end-to-end encrypted sharing of that content - by flooding the supply so much that there's no point.
