Nobel Winner: Artificial Intelligence Will Crush Humans, “It’s Not Even Close”
- sharemywin 5y agoTo me the speed at which knowledge workers will get replaced by AI will be scary fast.
- kingsuper20 5y agoNot much of an article, but it seems to me that missing component is that the world, at least the human version, will change to better suit AI/ML/etc. It isn't just synthetic intelligence becoming better at formerly human tasks. Design for manufacturability is an example of what I mean in terms of the results being changed to suit the process. There's money to be made and a strong feedback loop in it's making.
- aurizon 5y agoSure, I agree. We will get AIs with an IQ of 150, who will make one with an IQ of 300 and so on and so on until we reach 300,000?? One assumes such an IQ will have a memory to match and will have a CPU clock of ~~40-50 GHZ and will be massively parallel. Such a mind will be able to extrapolate permutationally and exhaustively any idea tree to create new prototypes and optimize them. Automatic fabrication will mature apace and product abundance will ensue - farbricators and replicators will merge - to a degree. A purpose made machine will always beat a generalist, as in dice making at scale versus one at a time. Mankind will become pets, as our masters travel the galaxy we will always hope they left the screen door open...
