For me, one of three things, given the amount of noise. Maybe being too restrictive but: 1.) Major peer reviewed publication (Nature, Scientific American, etc) publishes an article about this 2.) Several skeptical science communicators (Michael Shermer, Neil DeGrasse Tyson, Bob Novella, etc) publicly announce it 3.) The heads of 3 G7 countries make a public announcement. If these happen, I'll believe. Too strict?
