Why not let everybody compete with everybody in every sport?
I never understood why there are men's events and women's events, or even children's events, for that matter.
Let people compete at whatever level they can. The lowest levels will be full of high schoolers and women for most sports, the highest levels will be full of men and top-1% women.
Why would biological males need to compete only against biological males, or biological females only against biological females? The requirements of the sport they're competing in remain the same in either case, right?
- ChrisGranger 5y agoThere are a lot of Olympic events where the women's world record is insufficient to even qualify to compete. It wouldn't be men and the top-1% of women. It would be men and maybe the top-0.01% of women, assuming this didn't discourage them from even bothering.
- newsbinator 5y agoThe Olympics would have to adjust to be: top-tier, second-tier, etc And men or women could compete in any tier they qualify for. If people are interested in watching third-tier olympics, great. If not, that's a separate issue. I suspect they might be, just to see who can break out from third-tier to second-tier all of a sudden.
