If a dog gave a positive result 93% of the time, but it was a false positive 40% of the time, does that mean 63% of suspects were carrying? Maybe I'm square, but that seems absurdly high to me unless the dogs are only used when there is already suspicion otherwise.
- greycol 5y agoIt's around 15% of the population (48 mil) of us population for marijuana. So yes the traffic stops were positively correlated with drug possesion. NB: The most optimistic reason for this correlation would be: 'Drug possession' correlates with 'drug use' correlates with 'driving while impaired' correlates with 'driving in a way that gets you pulled over'.
