This is like when the big TV networks announce their Fall schedule -- some great entertainment to look forward to, along with the NFL and the World Series. People who care about the culture wars in the USA will love it. The rest of us? Crickets.
- jfengel 5y agoThis particular bit of "culture war" has a significant effect on a lot of Americans. A change will result in some combination of many more people becoming parents and many more people taking even stronger measures to ensure that they don't. And it will likely result in the procedure being performed illegally. It probably has no place on HN, since to a lot of people it is just culture war, producing much heat but little light. But if HN had a higher proportion of people most directly affected (i.e. those with uteruses) it would be relevant to more of us (albeit still not a tech matter).
