Cloudflare’s captcha proposal would end AIs source of free labor
- 1cvmask 5y agoThe Cloudflare proposal is great for the bots. Just build rigs with FIDO and Webauthn keys. At scale (large wholesale orders) you can get them for less than $3 from manufacturers like Fetian etc…
- alisonkisk 5y agoIt's one identity per computer, not one identity per FIDO key. But anyway it defeats the purpose of checking for humanity.

- gruez 5y agoCaptchas are pretty cheap to solve ($0.002 per solve) so I'm actually surprised there isn't some sort of captcha solving browser plugin aimed at consumers. Spending a few bucks per year to ensure I never have to solve a captcha seems like a bargain to me.
- logronoide 5y agoIt exists for abusers trying to break into accounts with automated tools. And yes, it’s very cheap and basically is a measure that generates a lot of friction but easy to bypass.
