Actually, I like tab. It gives people more choice on how their code looks like based on their editor's preference. But no, I cannot —even sneakily, manually— enforce tab in my company(es) code bases. Reasonable person uses formatter which opinionated config set from the first commit. And I like the formatter decision better. If it is automated and reduce unnecessary debate between devs, why not?
