It can't run Intel-based OSs or VMs, of course, but the latest version of Parallels Desktop runs ARM-based Linux guests on M1 Macs, as well as the Windows 10 ARM preview. (VMware has implied that the next release of Fusion will support Apple silicon as well.)
- _kbh_ 5y agoQEMU already supports x86_64 on Apple silicon. It was just slow last time I checked not sure of the performance now.
- Rhedox 5y agoAs far as I know, besides the generating slow code, qemu also does not support multi threading when emulating strong memory ordering architectures (x86) on weak hosts (ARM).
