I use 2 spaces for indentation, but I agree that tabs are more logical. The reason why I switched to using spaces (years ago) is because tabs look terrible when copy-pasting code in a text area in the browser; they look way too big. If everyone chose tab spacing sensibly, then tabs would be ideal but there always seems to be some people somewhere who will exploit any flexibility provided by any technology to do something retarded. At least with 2 spaces, I have full control over how my code looks everywhere.
