Even if they're not directly related to the divorce, the divorce announcement makes it newsworthy. I believe the Eppstein link was already known, but it's (re?)surfacing now worth more interest. Note that if Melinda had been the CEO tycoon, she might have been the target. But as things stand, we attribute the success to Bill and therefore care more about sordid stories about him than her.
