- o-__-o 5y agoYeah! Casual copyright infringement! I guess the reasoning goes, gpt-3 will make journalism go the way of the dodo bird
- jppope 5y agoI think we would all be happier if hacker news rejected sites that had a paywall... unfortunately, those companies keep posting articles on HN ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. And so it goes
- nuclearnice1 5y agothose companies keep posting articles on HN?
- Black101 5y agoI had no problem viewing the article... I use noscript and ublock origin addon among others....
- riffraff 5y agoI think we would be happier if people paid for quality journalism. I myself bypass paywalls often, but I am very worried of the ultimate effects of not paying for news. I wish we had more LWN-style "this article has been made public thanks to X".
- magneticnorth 5y agoI've generally always had good luck with archive.is https://archive.is/T28ui https://archive.is/T28ui
- shp0ngle 5y agowhat works for me is just disabling JS. That actually fools a lot of websites - like NYTimes and I think WaPost.
- Rzor 5y agoUsually I just interrupt a reload, but sometimes it keeps loading the popup after a while. uBlock's disable JS button helps, but I never remind myself to use it. I found out that I could only recently.
- oh_sigh 5y agoYour browser almost certainly lets you block JS on a per-site setting by clicking the lock in the URL bar -> site settings -> disable javascript
- Mengkudulangsat 5y agoBypassing Bloomberg paywall is the sole reason I keep Microsoft Edge. Just clear everything upon exit. Works like a charm so far.
