Why aren't chips recycled more? (Not that recycling could address the immediate problem.)
Or perhaps there is already a lot of recycling, but it is not apparent to me and probably not apparent to most people.
Is pulling and sorting chips from e-waste inefficient? Damages too many chips?
In China a lot of reverse engineered info on proprietary chips floats around among engineers. Are hardware engineers in the west too busy to adapt to recycled chips? Is the supply too precarious?

- mastax 5y agoChips are recycled, at least the valuable ones. Go on AliExpress and you'll find lots of expensive FPGAs reballed, iPhone chips for repair, classic computer chips that are no longer made, etc.
