Show HN: InstantCard, a social media image generator
- forgotpwd16 5y agoFor Instagram Professionals the Graph API could be used to publish right from the site effectively bypassing the step 3. Also a form of auto-retrieving new articles, such as utilizing RSS/Atom, means the entire process could be automated. Those are some obvious improvements and automation is something expected from a subscribed service. Right now it's just a meme generator being fed some data (presumably site's metadata?) and probably someone will hack a free clone in an evening. Edit: Beyond the criticism, that seems like a nice idea.
- jamescalmus 5y agoThanks for your comments! Posting directly to Instagram is already on my backlog because, as you say, it’ll be useful for the tool to automate the process, but I wanted to make a first iteration of the tool that did the design work I was looking for before tackling the harder stuff like social media integrations. The RSS feed is a great idea so I’m going to add that to my to-do list - totally agree with your point that people expect a lot from a subscribed service so I hope to live up to that.
