As much as I disapprove of Facebook and their shady business tactics, there's no evidence presented in the article that this should be attributed directly to Facebook. It could be a malicious browser addon or mobile app. It would be great if Facebook could offer its users a CloudTrail-esque log of their activities, surely they have all this information. eg.
